Webinar: BRICS – The Image of Energy 2020+ (Moscow)
"BRICS – THE IMAGE OF ENERGY 2020+"
Webinar by BRICS Youth Energy Agency with support of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo).
One of the challenges for BRICS countries at the times of the unprecedented international actions to combat the pandemic and to mild the disbalances of the world energy market is a timely forecasting of the devastating consequences for industries to adapt it to the new realities of the energy market, especially low oil prices. BRICS countries comprise major oil exporters (Russia – 2nd, Brazil – 15th) and importers (China – 1st, India – 3rd, South Africa – 22nd) of the world, thus, the imbalance of energy commodities’ prices will have different impact on the five countries.
As mentioned before, it is important to accurately estimate the consequences of the oil crisis and to project the way the fuel and energy sector will change after the crisis is over. An integral part of this task is BRICS energy development forecasting based on new variables and industry realities.
Additionally, BRICS YEA will inform the young researchers from BRICS about the main topics and the terms of participation in the «BRICS Youth Energy Outlook 2020», an annual international energy study led solely by young researchers and professionals, which will be introduced at the 3rd BRICS Youth Energy Agency Summit as part of the «Russian Energy Week» International Forum Youth Day #TogetherBrighter in Moscow, Russia (October 16, 2020). The terms for participation in the event with a complete expenses’ coverage will be also disclosed.
The webinar issue in question: “What changes will 2020 bring to the global fuel and energy sector and what impact it will have on the BRICS countries?”
